Vivomove 3 displaying the word 'missing' not able to turn on

I have this the Vivomove 3 for less than a week, got it as a gift overseas. I managed to set it up, not long after this it kept loosing charge and the word "MISSING' was displayed on the screen. It will not register when plugged into Garmin Express and sometime the Garmin triangle will show for a short period of time. Because of this I cannot hard reset it through the watch itself, has anyone come across this before or even knows what the word MISSING means? I have contacted Garmin but as it was a gift from overseas I do not have a proof of purchase for a replacement.

Any help would be great.
