Connecting to Wifi on my Vivoactive 3 music

I have the Garmin VivoActive 3 music and am unable to connect it to the wifi. I've tried multiple different networks - including my iPhone Hotspot... I have always had the latest software updates installed onto my watch as well.

I have never been able to connect my watch to Wifi and I've had it for 18 months now... I have been constantly waiting and downloading the latest watch software hoping that Garmin will provide a fix for this... but they still haven't..

I was hoping someone might have a fix for this or be able to provide an update as to whether Garmin have actually fixed the problem?

I would really like to download some playlist from my Spotify so I can run with music.. (don't like carrying my phone when I run). Am picking up my marathon training again and having music would be a HUGE boost for my longer training runs!
