I have looked at similar threads but I’m struggling to understand how the VO2 max score works. I have recently picked up running and purchased a Garmin vivoactive 3 as a way of keeping myself motivated. I have started with a VO2 max score of 35 which felt reasonable given I am 42 and could not exercise for a long time because of a difficult pregnancy and birth. After 5 weeks of running 3 times a week (during which time I also lost 4 kg) my score dropped to 32 . I don’t understand it, I feel fitter and I can definitely run faster and for longer periods than when I started. Can anyone explain me what’s going on? I’m finding it a bit demotivating seeing the score dropping week by week. Thanks so much!
