My parents both have Vivoactive 3 and started complaining this yesterday, seems that the issue started exactly on the 15th, too.
Make sure tracking is still enabled in the settings of the watch. It may been inadvertently turned off. Also, make sure it's set as the primary tracker. The best palce to do this is in web Connect but I would also check GCM and the watch itself.
I got frustrated with it, so I kept clearing the Connect app data and cache and force stopping it. Then I "forgot" my Bluetooth connection to my watch as well as the watch profile within the app. I kept pairing and repairing until the watch finally synced with the Connect app. In the worst case scenario, one can download the Garmin Express app and upload data that way.
Mine stopped recording any activity, steps, hr, stress, sleep, etc at 12:16pm on 19th October (that's the last time-stamp for any of my active data-traces)
Frustrated with none of my data appearing today, I had tried all the shut-down, reboot, bluetooth re-connections and app-updates thinking the data was just captive behind a failed bluetooth sync, but it's clearly a deeper problem than that. Zero data at all on device for the last 24 ish hours except for recorded activities and a real-time readout of Heartrate (so, obviously bluetooth isn't the problem)
Will check the data tracking settings, though surely seems strange it could have been accidentally turned off. Not sure exactly where in the VA3 that setting is, tbh... More egregious, at 12:16pm on Monday Oct 19th I was getting out of a video-conference meeting and ready to make some lunch, not really a context in which I'd anticipate my watch getting its core functionality shut down. Seems very dodgy to me...
