Temperature not showing up in activity

Hello.

I have an issue with the temperature from the internal sensor not showing up in my activities.
I have tried running, walking and cycling.

I know that a lot of other watches adds this information to the activity, but why doesn't Vivoactive 3?

Screenshot 1 is from a Fenix 3 that has temperature readings.

Screenshot 2 is from my Vivoactive 3 (no temperature).

  • The VA3 doesn't have user-accessible temperature. Even if it did, the temperature reported by a wrist-based device is unlikely to be very accurate. If you want to add temperature then get the Garmin Tempe external temperature sensor and put it where it won't be affected by either any sunshine or body temperature.

  • With vivoactives that have an internal temperate sensor, that data is not recorded, but with a fenix, it is.

To record temperature data with a va3, you need a tempe sensor.

You can display the internal data with apps on the va3, but not record it.  It can be quite a bit off from ambient on all watches, as it's im[pacted by your body temperature and is used with the baro altimeter.

Here's a widget of mine that will show the interval temperature, and the data from a tempe if one is available:
