Bluetooth Connectivity with Earbuds....Problems!?

I have the VA3 Music and pair it with a set of Jaybird Run's and I'm constantly getting cut-outs where the music will stop, then play again like it's temporarily losing it's bluetooth connection. The problem, as I discovered, is that I wear my VA3 Music watch on my left wrist, and the bluetooth radio is located in the right earbud. If I hold my left arm up a little, the connection is fine, but when I'm swinging my arms back and forth as you do when running, the connection cuts out. Talk about a weak bluetooth radio!!!!! Does anyone else have this issue? I know it's got to be the VA3 bluetooth radio because this doesn't happen when I use my iphone or ipod nano.

Also, if I wear my VA3 on my right wrist, it plays fine. I think it's crazy that the BT radio in the VA3 Music can be that weak. Any thoughts, or do you think I have a bad VA3 Music and should return?
  • I have to have the headphone receiver and watch on the same side of my body to have a consistent connection... cheap soundpeat earphones.

Not entirely surprised to be honest, the body is extremely efficient at blocking electromagnetic waves due to high water content and as the watch is strapped firmly against the wrist in order for the HRM to work the signal has no chance (this is not usually the case for phones and ipods). You dont want too strong a bluetooth signal from the watch because that would affect battery life.

Solution is to either wear watch and receiver on same side or buy expensive earphones with great receiver I reckon.

EDIT: or maybe try turning the watch around so that its on the underside of the wrist??
  • I bough these https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Wave...55363521.html? and I was quite pleased with the audio quality.

Have tried it with my VA3M and these work great. I wear it on my left wrist and antenna is on the right (ie opposite). Had just a few drop outs during a run, but no drop outs at all during a gym strength workout.

    I highly recommend them.

My vivo 3 music stopped transmitting to my head phones. It says it is sending but it is not playing.

I'm using the VA3Music with Jabra Elite Active 65t. They're the best running Bluetooth headphones I've used. I wear my VA3Music on my left wrist and the primary receiver is in my right ear. The only time I find it cuts out is if I'm walking with a large arm movement so my left wrist swings behind my body on the left side. It's occasional not every time. As for general walking, hiking, running, treadmill, snowblowing, lawnmowing they're solid.

I've tried my Plantroincs Backbeat Go 2 and they work but the sound isn't as good, also they're not truly wireless, they have a connecting cable between the ear pieces.

Same is true with my Ink'd Wireless headphones.

I used to have a pair of Bragi Dash, the sound wasn't as good as the Jabra Elite Active 65t and the receiver in the right ear was to recessed and always cut out. They did have an internal 4GB of memory to keep the music internal but they were plagues with other problems. Plagued.

They all work well the only problem I have had is with my left wrist occasionally going behind my body while walking. Other than that, when I have had problems, I reboot the watch.

Hi! I am trying to bypass this issue downgrading to old Vivoactive 3 Music beta software versions. Follow up here: forums.garmin.com/.../repository-of-old-vivoactive-3-music-software-versions-music-cut-out-issues
