We take groups of sailors along the coast in a 1000km route along the north coast of Brazil. from Fortaleza to the Lencos Maranehnses. In 70% of the journey we managed to go along the beaches with the trucks giving support to the group and having 100% visual and support. Our problem is in the remaining 30%, at which point the vans do not have visual with the group, then the support team waits at the destination. We need you to recommend the right equipment to get via GPS tracking, know where the group is. The connection has to be satellite and not via internet, the signal is not good during the trip. You don't even have basic cellular (SMS, GSM) service in those 30% area? You can find small battery operated GPS tracker, waterproof, that send position via SMS. Otherwise you will need a satellite tracker such as those used for Rally races (Iritrack), but Idon't know much about those.
