VO2 max stopped being updated

VO2 max stopped being updated on pie graph on the connect app and mobile app.
First few weeks VO2 max was updating properly on the graph (immediately after the walk) and pie graph below. But from 18/11 it is being updated only on graph. On pie it stays same from 18/11 and not updated any more. Checked on web app and it is same.
Anybody else has VO2 max stuck on pie graph? (attached screenshot from mobile app) ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1281809.png

I wonder how much my weight affects my Vo2 Max that is ml/kg/min. I use the Garmin Scale every day in the morning and I do fluctuate 0.3-1.0 kg a day, mostly water I think. Anyway I recently had a vo2 max of 45 and I think my weight was that day 66.6kg and to day I got a vo2 max of 44 and my weight today was 67.0kg. Did my vo2 max dropped because I gained weight or just normal fluctuation. I just do a minimum 15 min fast walk, and I am 48 years old and 175cm tall. I know that vo2 max depends on the weight but not how much. It could be if someone trains a lot it will give them higher vo2 max some of it could be because of weight loss.

Uppdate. Went for a walk today and got vo2 max of 45 and got the weight from Garmin scale that is connected to Garmin connect at 66.4kg. Yesterday I did almost the same walk in time and area and got a vo2 max of 44 but I weighed more yesterday at 67.0kg. I did check my weight both days with a different scale and it was spot on. I know that less weight give You higher Vo2 max, but other factors are in play to. Not al people enter their daily weight into garmin connect but if one are doing a run/walk and get for instance 45 in vo2 max and maybe doing another run/walk a month later and gets like 47 vo2 max but have lost 2kg in body mass, maybe they higher vo2 max is maybe not only because of better aerobic performance, maybe a part of it is the loss in bodymass, just speculating.
  • While weight plays a role in the calculation I'm not sure that 1kg day-to-day will have much effect on your Vo2max score.

Just before my fall marathon I was around 146lbs (~66kg) and my Vo2Max on my 735 was 54, and now after taking it pretty easy during November and putting about 7lbs (3kg) back on my Vo2Max has only dropped to 52. Overall I believe pace and HR or maybe HR at a given pace will have a bigger effect on your Vo2Max estimate.

I found this on the web, if it is correct or not I dont know. One with 68kg and has 60 of VO2 max and gained weight of 4.5kg to 72.5 kg will get lower VO2 max of 56.2? Then I am not sure how Garmin calculate it. That would be almost around for every kg a person gain it would lower the VO2 max with one point.

    From the web

"Vo2 Max is generally shown in term of oxygen utilized per kg of body weight. So naturally if you lost non essential weight your vo2 max relative to your weight would increase. If you gained weight particulary fat your vo2 max relative to your weight would decrease. lets say than the vo2 of 60 mL/kg/min measure is of a 150 pound individual(about 68 kg). So for every kg of body weight they are untilizing 60 ml of oxygen per minute. That would mean every minute the absolute consumption is 4080 mL of oxygen per minute. If they were to gain 10 pounds(4.5 kg)+(68kg)=72.5 kg. 4080 ml / 72.5kg= 56.2 Ml/kg/min. All things being equal that would be a substantial drop in performance. In the 5k that 60 ml/kg/min would be around 17:02 and the 56.2 would be around 18:05. That only takes into account vo2 max and its relation to performance. there are other factors that contribute to performance. That being said non essential body weight(fat/excess non specific muscle) can have a drastic effect on performance as you can see from the calculations.:"

  • In the Firstbeat (whose formula Garmin uses) white paper they mention user biometrics but state that only age is a requirement and other than mentioning that true Vo2Max measuremnts are taken in ml/kg/min there's no mention of weight. I'm sure that if you have your weight in your profile it is used but it doesn't seem that it's a major factor in the estimation.

  • I am on 2.9 now. From end December it started updating properly again. I think it was even before 2.8 started rolling out. Now for me updating properly each time.
