Vibration Intensity

I picked up a Vivoactive 3 today, upgrading from the Vivoactive HR and wow, you guys are not wrong, The Vibration intensity is basically useless on this watch. Cannot tell the difference between Low, Med or High. Wish I had of read this forum before buying. Its almost a deal breaker and am thinking of returning it.

    Hi All,

I checked my watch, it is Rev B (Bought in Singapore).
Went to the service centre in Singapore, they were friendly and allowed me to test and compare with 2 other watches. 1 is only slightly stronger if not it is the same, the other is significantly much weaker.
All the 3 watches (including mine) are version 2.70 software. They acknowledged that 2.40 was weaker so it should be better now.

Anyway, I did not change my watch and accept that Vivoactive 3 is just weaker than Vivoactive HR in terms of vibration.
But I do think it may be just design issue as the vibration is actually noticeable if you place your finger on the face of the watch, but just weak on the side of our wrist.

Is there an app for Android that we may use to get repeated vibrations so that the notification becomes more noticeable. For android wear I was using an app called "Feel the wear" which solved the problem for missed notifications for watches with less vibration intensity.
  • Pretty sure this will be sorted in a coming update. If you access the forced test mode on your vivoactive 3, you can try/test different vibration profiles and the watch is more than capable of better vibration but I guess we'll have to wait for garmin to implement it :-(

  • When I used the vAhr, vibration was set to low and was strong enough to feel on all occasions. Since switching to the vA3, I've progressed through low, medium, and now high for my vibration setting. Still find that I occasionally miss some notifications even on the high setting.
