Strength training, strength app and sleep tracking - serious issues

I warmly welcome Slight smile

At the outset, I would like to welcome all Forum users.

I would like to make a few important points here that are simply reprehensible in Harmony Venu. However, I think that this is a global problem for the entire product ecosystem (if I'm wrong correct me). Therefore, I will not mention trifles, but key issues from the point of use of Garmin watches. Individual problems and details are raised by other users. I will focus on serious problems and issues that should not happen to a brand like Garmin.

First, strength training and the Strength application. Garmin has its own unique application for practicing this sport. No competitor's product has this. And this is a fantastic move that the manufacturer's part. However, there are a few points that need to be said out loud. First, automatic rep counting and strength exercise detection. It is such a weak function that it simply makes no sense to exist in such a form. The watch does not recognize the number of repetitions well, and it is even worse at interpreting what exercise you are doing. I am aware that it is electronics, but ... If I did not know that the competition, such as Fossil, can detect the performed exercise without fail. And Garmin ...? He's doing it just not so much wrong as it is just hopeless. I would describe the effectiveness as 10-15%. Even worse is that counting repetitions. Here it is a real randomness, as if no algorithm supported it, but the watch introduced random numbers. This is more than embarrassing. Devices that have so many sensors and cannot achieve even 70% efficiency? Really? A company that respects itself, has so many patents, many wonderful algorithms and over the past few years has done nothing to improve this state of affairs?

In addition, the question of advanced workouts that you can create yourself. This is the best possible design and truly unique. It was basically the bargaining chip for which I purchased this watch. The combination of the AMOLED screen (the only one that is right for Indoor training) and a personal trainer on the wrist is a brilliant prospect. However, I would like to mention a few things that are eye-catching. We're talking about strength training and fitness all the time. First of all, the base of exercises is huge. However, from my observations (I am a professional), there are many variations of rarely used exercises, while exercises on the lift and with rubbers are simply not enough. These are aspects that are often used in gyms. I don't know if the base builders have ever trained in the gym. It would be nice if the database was constantly updated. And now one more detail that relates strictly to the operation of the watch. By creating an advanced training, you can easily add the weight of dumbbells or weights with an accuracy of one decimal place. On the other hand, when you exercise, when you need to edit your series and repetitions, the watch does not. Likewise, you cannot edit the load after uploading the workout to Garmin Connect. For someone who trains competitively or semi-professionally, this is unacceptable. Let's make an appointment. Garmina watches are dedicated to professionals and sports enthusiasts, so such problems should not occur. I also have the impression that the Garmin company favors running and cycling, while it treats athletes of body sports and people who do fitness a bit neglectfully. I am very disappointed with this fact and I hope to improve it.

Another issue is sleep tracking. Or rather, a caricature of him in recent months. In the beginning, Venu cut the length of sleep, constantly under-impressing its quality. After one update, the algorithms completely changed. And now they detect a dream that does not exist. Virtually never, it never detects when you fall asleep and wake up correctly. There is also no option to introduce polyphasic sleep or naps. I will not mention people who work in shifts. It is simply hopeless and so reprehensible and unacceptable that even Xiaomi bands such as Mi Band can do it.

To sum up, the issues that I raised are important from the point of view of a person practicing sports. I hope the administration will take these issues seriously. Because these aren't just problems. Only downright global. However, if this does not happen, I will have to send an official letter to the manufacturer. Garmin takes a lot of money for its devices. It is brilliant in some respects. Matchless. But it also has serious problems that are bypassed. However, there are still tweaks to things that are of little importance to the overall experience, such as fonts or visual aspects on the watch.

Please kindly refer the administration to these problems and give a meaningful answer. It would be nice if Garmin would take seriously serious problems rather than focus on less important or some things at all. Greet and wait for a replyWink
