Body Battery not charging and stress seems abnormally high

My body battery seemed to functioning correctly and charging overnight.  Then on Sat it dropped to 5% and didn't charge at all that night.  Sunday night it charge slightly up to 14.  My stress levels seem abnormally high.  Even during sleep and just sitting on the couch reading. I'm starting to worry - these are based on HRV.  Do I have an issue or a faulty watch? These stats are causing me anxiety for sure. :(

  • Having the exact same problem on a Fenix 6 Sapphire, so you're not imagining things. ADS shows significantly higher and out of the rest band than my F5+, will probably return it for now...

  • Hey all, reached out to support and they suggested a soft reset (light button, 30s) and to see if it fixed itself. The very helpful support rep said the ADS calculation uses some elements of HR data (7-day RHR in particular), so I guess the soft reset forces it to reload the data from history.

Sure enough, that resolved the problem and my sleep ADS readings are what I'd expect from my F5+, if even more consistent. So wear it for 3 days, soft reset, see if it makes more sense!

Do a factory reset to default values. This fixed the body battery/ abnormal stress issue for me.

I have been having the same issue, tried soft reset and the issue recurred. Anyone have other solutions from Garmin?  This seems to be a software problem

Same problem. Bought the garmin venu last week and since then iv been at 5% body battery. Tried a hard reboot, didn't work.. is Garmin suggesting any resolution for this defective feature?

Same problem. Got the garmin venu on 26th June 2020 and since then my body battery is always at 5% despite sleeping, relaxing etc. Just wondering if Garmin would actually provide some resolution to this, so many people have been dealing with this issue for so long now

  • Quick question, do you wear it when you sleep?

The tech I spoke with on the phone about my F6 was mentioning it's based on RHR-related data, which normally gets captured overnight I believe. That's why a new watch may be weird and require a full reboot to reload the RHR data it has stored (which seems silly, but hey, seems to work).

Does your RHR value/history make sense? Trying to think about what else would screw up all day stress... I'm also assuming your ADS values are trending too high, it's not just a Body Battery value that's out of whack?

Hey, thanks for the inputs.. yes I do wear it overnight, the RHR values seem okay but the stress levels are very high while sleeping. That's a bit strange.

A full reboot would mean a factory reset? Would I not lose my history etc with that? I tried a hard reboot where in the top right button was to be kept pressed for 15 seconds and then the watch shut down. It didn't work..
