Colour coded walking speed?

Walking pace of 12.13 min/km map is coloured primarily green small amount of yellow, a dot of red and blue = Slow

Walking pace of 13.26 min/km map is primarily yellow and orange, with a small amount of green, several dots of blue and 1 dot of red = faster than the ^above^ walk

Walking pace of 12.26 min/km is primarily shades of orange, some red, dots of green, yellow and blue = the faster of the 3 walks.

Intensity minutes still have me confused.

I've just checked more of my walking on Monday I walked less distance than today with a lower heart rate and gained 33 intensity minutes.

Today's walk was further and faster higher heart rate and only received 10 intensity minutes.

Is this watch faulty?

I'm trying to like this watch.

I solved the sleep problem by adding it manually.

  • Based on what you put above, your fastest walk was the first one at 12.13 min/km.  The map isn’t going to reflect every second of your walk.  As I mentioned in the other post your heart rate has to stay in zone 3 or zone 4 for 5 minutes at a time to count towards your intensity minutes.  If it dips back down then the timer starts over.  I have verified this on the elliptical when I wasn’t getting many intensity minute days.  It was because I was stopping every 5 minutes for a drink of water and that was enough to make my HR dip into a lower zone.

So, it’s a combination of continuous HR in the zone of at least 5 minutes and also you probably need to adjust your zones for a lower HR.  80-90% they have in zone 4 as default is really not correct when it comes to what the AHA deems vigorous which is closer to 70-85% of maximum HR.  I’d adjust your zones under user settings.

  • Sorry if there is some misunderstanding, this isn't about heart rate.

This is about the colour coded walking speed, tracked by the GPS.

If the colours on the map are a reflection of my heart rate the watch is going back as faulty.

The day I pushed the stroller the colour showed deep blue showing I wasn't moving, if this was my heart rate I've got a real problem.

Yes, I stopped heart rate was really high which is reflected in my heart rate graph, pushing a stroller is hard work.

So the colours on the map whilst walking reflect walking speed as determined by GPS, not heart rate.

    I think

  • You mentioned you didn’t receive as many intensity minutes as you thought you should, so that’s why I talked about HR.

Ah, yes the color coded speed is reflected by GPS not HR.  I also didn’t realize you were pushing a stroller.  Just FYI, these wrist type activity trackers have to have the arm free and moving, so your number of steps might be off though the GPS should at least track the pace and distance correctly.  Best to wear it on your ankle if pushing a stroller.

  • I took you advice and placed it on my ankle while mowing the lawn.

The watch decided it was a walk  exercise.

The GPS map is like a child scribble:) but it counted the steps and took me 33 minutes to walk 600 metres

But it worked that's the main thing. Thank you
