Constant Battery Drain

I’d had a few Missing Right Sensor Issues which I sorted by cleaning all the contacts with Alcohol. I then put in a brand new set of Duracell Dl1/3N batteries. 1 week later and the pedals wouldn’t wake up at all. Removed the batteries and checked them with a multi-meter and they were both below 2V.

I put in another set (not brand new) yesterday and recorded the left and right voltages of 3.02 and 3.08V. 24 hrs later (bike not ridden) I removed the batteries and checked the voltage again - 2.13 and 2.66V.

So something is badly wrong!

Any ideas?? A pair of batteries a day is going to work out very expensive!

I eventually contacted Garmin support explaining everything I had tried. They immediately agreed to replace the pedals. Quick and easy return process and I now have a working set of pedals. One happy customer…

I assume the bike is stationary and not on a moving bike rack and you have no device (your phone?) connected to them.

Yep - also made sure I removed them from Garmin Connect on my phone, including removing them in the bluetooth settings. I’ve tried removing the battery completely from the right pedal to see if the Left drains on its own. If it’s drained further tomorrow, the next thing I’ll try is unpairing the right pedal. Although may have to put a new battery in by then as it will be too low to power it!!!

I suggest you call/ or chat line with Garmin support. They are usually (in my experience) very helpful.
