After putting up with these pedals for just under 12 months I've had it with them. Sending them back to the excellent retailer where I'll be swapping them for Favero Assioma pedals.
Why?
Because they've had constant dropouts, power spikes, poor battery life and they cannot deal with water.
I've had 2 sets of pedals sent to me, 1 to replace my original set. In amongst this I've had to overhaul them, fit new battery doors, and then another set of battery doors, internal battery housing units and seals. I paid £25 to send these back to Garmin initially for a reconditioned set.
I've spent hours speaking to Garmin and had rides completed wasted thanks to the vectors dropping off or spiking in power. I've had to purchase tools to complete the overhaul (including a 2 way torque wrench and socket set). Every time I've ridden with them, I'm never 100& confident they are accurate and reliable.
Garmin, having developed their 3rd battery door unit, over a year on from original release date, still haven't solved the problems with these pedals which if it's not obvious already, is their 3rd iteration of a power meter pedal.
It's simply not good enough.
There are countless other power meters out there that are reliable and just work. The amount of same ongoing issues that other people have with with these pedals is quite significant. They've ended up bringing a pedal to market that isn't fit for purpose. I guarantee you that if you've got a set of pedals that you've had for a couple of months now and you've had zero issues - you'll have issues with them eventually, no doubt about it.
Garmin should be giving up the game of making power meter pedals, they clearly can't make them.
