Head unit compatibility

Hi. Can’t see this answered elsewhere; apologies if I’m wrong.

Wondering whether the Vector 3s are compatible with the Edge 500 head unit? I’ve read varying reports online and it would be nice to know definitively. It’s a stretch for me to justify the cost of these pedals, and having to stump up an extra £200ish for a 520 would push me over the (ahem) Edge.

Vector 3 will, by default, come up in "legacy" mode, and only enable the extra data transmissions for cycling dynamics and torque effectiveness/pedal smoothness when it's requested by the head unit. The Edge 500 will display power, cadence and balance from Vector 3. the Edge 500 can set the cranklength and do zero offset calibration to Vector 3.
