There are a few exceptions, but overall Garmin doesn't read this forum.
This forum is just a way for Garmin to save money on support. (a forum is cheaper than hiring people who answer supportcalls or mails. Here users answer questions for free)
Garmin doesn't have a good track record (pun intended) for backporting features.
How to make Garmin listening? Leave bad reviews and/or buy an other brand that has all the features you need and is willing to back port new features to old devices.
But most likely, Garmin will still sell a lot of devices in the near future. People choose a device based on the length of the feature list (because they lack the knowledge to judge a device on quality they judge on quantity) and Garmin always wins on length of featurelist. (marketing will push that is stays that way) As long as they sell a lot of devices nothing will change.
(I neither love nore hate Garmin. It's just a company that makes sportwatches, which are quite nice but also has its flaws)
