Strange problems Forerunner 935

Hello,

Since begin November been having strange/different issues with my Forerunner 935. Automatic updates are on, also tried soft en hard resets.

-No stairs are being registered.

-Can't calibrate altimeter or barometer.  This causes very strange height measurements whilst doing an activity from 4m straight  to 7000m.

-With auto-pause set to on, whilst running the activity pauses, only way around this is to turn auto pause off.

-With the connect app, activity speed graph is constant, while the same activity in Strava (linked via Garmin) shows variations?

-Also on the connect app, since begin November no training status? train 5 times a week.

Been in touch with Garmin support and they want me te send my device in to change, should cost 100euro.

anyone else that reconises tany of these problems?

thanks Gavin

The floor issue and inability to calibrate the altimeter and those crazy readings suggest a problem with the barometer. It may be something simple like a block sensor port. Try soaking the watch in room temperature water with a drop of dish soap for about 15 minutes. Rinse and let air dry. If the problem persist, then you'll most likely need to replace it.

Floors don't work on mine either. Altimeter won't calibrate as well AND 2 days ago the daily calorie count began ignoring activity calories...very frustrated!

  • Oh, altimeter/barometer. Almost never worked correctly. You can calibrate them as much as you can, but 30 meters father away it shows already cosmic numbers what cannot be in any way correct. Example. I was at the beach, put the watch on the sea level. Calibrated the altimeter to 0. Moved away to beach 0,5 m higher 30m away from the  calibration point. Guess, what watch showed? 15m higher point...

The same thing is with barometer calibration. Totally useless features, just gimmicks- ripoffs, not features...

With regards to the barometer: Yes I have had the same problem. You can try the soaking method, however, you can also find the instructions where you can put the watch into diagnostic mode and determine if the barometer is broken (sounds like it is).
