Unrealistically high heart rate

Good day! Today I encountered strange for myself was the moment in a chest strap HRM-Tri. In the rest mode, it shows a constant value of the pulse - 243-246. Don't know what to think ((( here is yesterday, today is such garbage. Have you ever seen one of these? What to do?

In the end, just changed the battery to a new one and worked so that it seems that everything is fine. Tomorrow I will test on running activity

    table seems healthy :)

Agree, the sensor should be on me, not on the table during the measurement. But so it was, when the question arose, a photo for clarity-what kind of sensor we are talking about.???????

  • After reading the tread, I am confused as to whether the HRM strap was on your body or not, and whether the HR on the watch came from the internal sensor or the HRM strap.

Anyway: I have experienced that the HRM strap stays active after I have removed it. If the watch picks up on the signal, it will show a heart rate above 200 BPM.

Because of this, I now put the HRM strap in a jug of water when I remove it. It will block the signal from the HRM strap, and it will clean the salt off the strap, so it actually serves two purposes.
  • I’ve seen this on a few occasions with my Fenix5Plus with HRM-Run post-workout, after removing the strap from my body.

At first I thought it was the internal OHR sensor acting up by doubling or tripling my real HR, but I then realized that the green leds were off, and that the signal had to come from the strap laying in the backpack next to me.

Must be some kind of bug that keeps the watch in high power / sensor search mode even if no activities are running?
  • Having similar problem. When i first put on the chest hear Rate monitor 935 is reading up in the 240 range (run activity). I replaced the battery with no improvement. I was able to get the rate down to where it should be (70 range) by using some heart rate gel. This is all before starting activity

This has happened the last 2 times prior to going for a run. I have not seen this problem before with my 935. Has been very stable irrespective of what ever activity I was doing. Its about 2 years old now.

    I'm on 12.10
  • Is it the strap that is 2 years old?

Are you wetting the strap before putting it on?
  • philishambrock

Both strap and watch 2 years old Bought as part of the tri bundle. Same one as EvgeniyLIstyuk has pictured above. I will try out wetting the strap. Guess its starting to age. They are expensive to replace so hopefully that will extend its life.
  • They do age and 2 years is pretty good. However, read the instructions for use and care. These include a suggestion to moisten the strap before use. I always thoroughly soak ,one in water (warm) before use.
