Polar H7

Anyone had any luck pairing the H7 HRM with the 935?

Mine will connect but no HR is shown on the watch.

I saw some similar reports with the F5.

No more success than you, I'm seeing the same thing with it pairing but no HR data being available. Hopefully something Garmin patches soon. (I've another bluetooth HR monitor which is working fine, and the H7 has worked fine with everything previously - it's just the 935 + H7 combo that is failing.)
  • Don't have problems pairing H7, but have problems with the readings of the polar, there were there before buying 935.
  • Any chance then the problem is with the H7 ?

What other devices, other from Polar themselves, have you got it working with?

H7 is still working fine with my iphone, and an android tablet - it seems to be pointing at Garmin being the issue.
  • I was having problems with the H7 initially, but once I closed down any apps on my phone that might be trying to pair with the H7, things worked fine.

Note that I have more than one H7, and I did have one that never would pair correctly with the 935. My other H7 and newer H10 have worked well.

I have no idea why the other H7 would not pair, but sounds like you are having similar issues with yours. As with yours, my H7 had no problems pairing with other bluetooth devices.
  • Same here, my H7 pairs and is recognized by the watch, but no HR numbers are showing. I'm on the latest firmware.

    Garmin Support Response:

We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue, though we only test Garmin products with Garmin branded heart strap monitors.

No wonder it's not working since Garmin don't make any Bluetooth HR monitors! Jokes aside, my H7 is a few years old now, I'm wondering if there was a hardware revision more recently as some people seem to be having success. How old are the monitors of the others that are having trouble?
  • I've had a TICKR X working with a 935 using the BLE connection and also a Milestone foot pod and other reports of a Stages using BLE so these connection types can work in general.

I think though that Garmin have tried to follow some sort of standard BLE connection schema so if the H7 is "old" then maybe it is not adhering to that. As such zisper makes a good point. Can the H7 firmware be upgraded?

H10 can be upgraded, H7 no.

As I have one H7 that works with the 935 and one that doesn't, I have no problem believing that there may be a difference in firmware between different H7s.

I support this quote. I could not get my H& to pair with my Fenix 5 3.30. It would connect/disconnect so often it would not give me a HR reading. I happen to have bought a second H7 unit for my girlfriend a year after I bought mine.... and luckily it worked. There must be different firmwares.
