Manual Lap in Run Activity

How can I configure manual lap in Run Activity? I thought by disabling Auto Lap I would be able to press Stop and it would record the time and distance but it just pause without any indication of time and distance in the record. I know there's a way in Interval Training by setting the time and distance to Open. Is there a way to do it in Run Activity because I'm not resting in between pause? Thanks in advance.

Sorry, but what exactly do you mean?

You press the button, which is positioned on the rim of the watch at about where the four-o'-clock mark would be, once to manually mark the end of a lap/split (and, implicitly, the start of the next one).

It would record the time and distance of the entire activity (and, implicitly, the final lap/split if there are more than one in the activity) in the FIT file the watch produces, if you select Save after that.

Displaying the time and distance of the previous lap is not the objective (or an implicit information requirement) of marking a lap on the watch, which is recording a FIT file for you to upload to and review in Garmin Connect after the activity has been completed, although – at least on the Forerunner 235, and so probably also on the FR735XT – the screen that pops up when you press the Lap button will show the duration (and the sequence number within the activity) of the lap you just ended. If you want to see the distance, then make Last Lap Distance one of the data fields on one of the configurable data screens for Run.
