"Send to Device" gone? How to send workouts to watch on Garmin Connect now?

The last time I added a training plan to Garmin Connect (and for years prior) I was able to send the workouts on my calendar to my watch. That option is gone now. How do I send workouts to my watch now??

  • Seems like there is an issue across the board with sending training plans to calendar.  My most recent training plan posted under "my workouts".  What ever Garmin did when they changed the calendar appears to have screwed up the sync.

  • I think this belongs in the Connect forum as it applies to a wider audience. (I have a similar problem with sending routes to an Edge 130). The only way is to use the Express app on a PC instead.

I couldn't find the connect forum, this message board has been changed around and I didn't find a category for that anymore. Kinda like the send to device button. :P

Also, when you say PC do you mean specifically a windows computer? I have a Mac... is there a way to use Garmin Express on a Mac to send the workouts? That's what I've been trying to do, but before, the send to device button launched Garmin Express to complete the transfer, I don't know how to initiate the transfer directly inside Garmin Express.

  • The "Send to Device" is where it always was for me, in fact I used it this morning to send a structured workout to my watch for this afternoon.

  • Given some replies below wanted to add that I’m having this problem also! “Send to device” option is totally gone, and using Garmin Express on a Mac there does not appear to be any way to get my workouts on to my watch (they do appear in the app on my phone and on the Calendar in Garmin connect, but the whole point is to have them on my watch while I’m doing the activity...). Would love a solution from Garmin!

I figured out that my workouts were actually syncing wirelessly. If I made a recent update I just had to make sure I saw the watch say “updating...” after waking it up, which meant it was syncing those updates.
