3km difference in distance on a treadmill vs watch

Hi,

I have used my Garmin 45S a couple of times outside and 2-3 times indoor on the treadmill (intervals). Today i was going for a long run (7-8km) on the treadmill.

My watch told med that I had run 10km in 43minutes and the treadmill Said 7km.

What to do? My watch is way of!! Flushed

  • Avoid looking at the watch while running, do not hold the rail. Any interruption to natural arm swing will confuse the watch.

Thank you! I also read that it can help to run 1mile, stop the run, save and then manually enter the distance from the treadmill. Do you know if this will help also? I am not sure how accurate that is because i dont know how many times my gym have calibrated the treadmill.

    Yes, that can help, too.

Treadmills are notorious for inaccuracy. And I am not even sure if they can be calibrated.
