GPS signal

Hey everyone,
I have problem with GPS signal last 2 weeks.

I have Garmin Forerunner 35 and any activity I would like to do expect to Cardio I need to wait for GPS signal....but my watches can't connect with signal. On the display is waiting even I'm standing on the open space with no high buildings and trees around.

I reinstalled Garmin connect,I did update for 2.8 and 3.2 versions but watches responded the same, just waiting and I can't get GPS signal.

If I used Cardio, Connect can show me where i did the cardio,so it is really strange.

Any idea what should I do?

Thanks for your help.

    Hi all,

my wife has also the same problem with the Forerunner 35. We already updated to FW 3.3, but nothing has changed.
She can stand in open space for 10 min. and still doesn't get GPS signal.

    Has any one a sollution?

    Thanks for any help.
  • It might be worth trying a soft reset?. I had a problem with my forerunner 30 it gave the impression it had connected to gps and i set off running however it didnt. A soft reset fixed it. I pressed and held the power button for 10 seconds the watch turned off. Turn the watch back on, sync with garmin connect to set time etc and try the gps

    Hi all,

thanks for the reply - we tried soft and hard reset - it makes no difference. The watch still can't find any GPS signal (not even time sync over GPS after soft reset is done).
So there are two possibilities I guess:
    - the GPS reciver is broken
    - the GPS file is completely out of date and is not updated automatically
Unfortunaltly I can't find any source what the latest version of the GPS file is.
The Forerunner 35 shows version 3.50 - a Vivoactive 3 we also have shows version 4.30.
I can't say if both watches should have identical versions - if so the Forerunner would have not updated the GPS file for a while and this would explain the behavior.
(The reception got worse and worse over time till no signal at all could be recived).

Can any one have a look at his version of the GPS on a Forerunner 35?
Any other suggestion is wellcome :-)

    Best regards

    Follow up:
We couldn't find any solution for the problem. We now replaced the watch with the same model (Forerunner 35) - GPS is working fine now with the replacement (Same FW).
