I'm currently trying an FR35 and FR630 side by side. After my run when I look in Garmin Connect, about 50% of the time the FR35 displays a crazy "spiked" best pace. On my first run it gave me a best pace of 0:44! At other times it's attributed me with a 6:30, 4:55, etc. In the graph this usually appears right at the beginning of the run. The FR630 on the same run displays a much more realistic/accurate best pace of around 9-10 minutes. For the most part, both watches agree on total distance and average pace (though they can differ by 5-30 seconds). Current pace displayed seems more consistent between the two watches when I'm running, but when walking they differ by up to 20 minutes (the FR35 is faster)!
But back to the point of this post, is anyone else experiencing this "spike" in "best pace"?
Finally, on the FR35 I'm also seeing an abnormally high number for "max cadence" -- 238 to 248 -- more often than not. I'm running with a metronome set to 180 bpm and the FR630 displays a max cadence of 187. I run/walk, so I expect my average cadence to display lower than 180, but I certainly don't expect the max to be 248! I don't see this spike anywhere on the graph. Anyone else experiencing this?
