Poolswim App, why won't Garmin connect allow distance and swim metrics from this app. Imports for sporttracks so data is there.

using pool swim app on Forerunner 235. counts laps and shows distance while using but when saved comes up 0 distance etc. If imported into sports tracks shows distance, cadence, etc.

Shouldn't have to use another service for a Garmin device to see the data. My understanding is Garmin won't give access?
