Forerunner 235 ~ what mode to use when on an Elliptical ??

Just trying to figure out what mode I should be using when training on an elliptical. Using the "Run Indoors" mode, isn't right because the speed and cadence isn't accurate (well "maybe" the cadence), and the "Other" mode gives me a GPS track, which can't be deleted.

Any suggestions??

Good question, I kind of figured that it would automatically disable GPS when selecting "Other". It was always my impression that the "Other" mode was designed for indoor activities like weight training or aerobics, swimming or when your tied to a machine like an elliptical (or stair master / rowing, etc...) .

This kind of brings up the question of what is the "Other" mode designed for? Not getting picky here, just trying to understand my 235. Seems odd that the only selection that disables GPS is "Indoor Running".

    Found it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXNB8TycJMI

Basically you select "Other", down arrow to "Activities", select "Activities Settings", down arrow to "GPS Normal" and select, then down arrow to "Off" and select. Now anytime you do an indoor activity the GPS tracking in "Other" will be turned off. So now my "Run Indoor" is still considered a run activity but the "Other" mode could be anything else like an elliptical and/or rowing event or even playing basketball, even a weight lifting session would be good for this non-GPS setting.
