V02Max decline overnight

I typically run with a fenix 2 and garmin chest HRM. My V02 Max has consistently been around 55 +-1 or 2. I recently switched to the 235. I ran my first run today with my 235 on one wrist using the wrist HRM and my fenix 2 on the other wrist using the chest HRM. The difference between the two was only 3 or 4 BPM, however, I checked my V02 max on the connect app and I've dropped all the was down to 44.

Does anyone know what's going on here? Am I dying? Has the new watch reset all my history? Sorry if this has already been posted and answered. Please give me link to the article if it has.

Thanks
  • If the 44 came from the 235 that's just the initial number you're getting from that watch and it will go up gradually over the next week or two and eventually stabilize at a level close to what you you're used to seeing on the F2.

a when hen you add a new watch VO2Max isn't one of the things that will automatically get put into the profile so the watch has to learn you on its own.
  • Cool. That?s kind of what I had figured. Thanks for the info.
