Waypoints App in Forerunner 235

Hi

Does anybody know of an app for Forerunner 235, where you can set a waypoint/position in fx Google-Maps, and then on the watch, see an arrow pointing in the direction of the waypoint ?
I have seen a "Where is my car" app, but you cannot enter a specific waypoint, you can only store your current position.

Best regards
Peter
  • Have you tried dwMap? This allows you to enter a route that you can then follow on the watch. It doesnt have an arrow, just the map and breadcrumbs of where you have been, but I have found it good to follow routes in areas I dont know.

Yes I have tried dwMap, but as you said, it does not have an arrow pointing to the direction where I'm going. So I found that I cannot use dwMap.

Then buy a device model that actually supports the feature you want, instead of looking to add the capability by someone else's (free?) Connect‑IQ apps alone, irrespective of whether you believe the hardware in the FR235 ought to be sufficient for accomplishing what you want.

Have you looked at the PREMIUM dwMap? If I read it right, it does have the features you are looking for.

More detail: https://dynamic.watch/help/premium See specifically: "dwMap Navigation Page" (sub section "Navigating to a Waypoint") and "Waypoints."

As others replied (thank you) the Premium version of dwMap offers the arrow: you can download waypoints as part of your route (or just waypoints, no route at all) then choose any of them to be your current navigation target and get a distance and direction arrow.

See https://dynamic.watch/help/premium#appnavpage for some screen shots.

"Just buy another device". Thanks for the "great" advice mister richie rich :)
I didn't think of this feature when I bought the 235. And now that I have the 235, I'm just asking if it's possible. That's all.
