235 stuck in Garmin logo after firmware update and won't start up

After updating the firmware, my 235 won't start up and is stuck in the Garmin logo loop.

I have tried to reset by pressing and holding the power button numerous times and all that happens is the watch turns off and when I turn it on, Garmin logo boots up, beeps a few times and then goes back to rebooting again with the logo, etc.

I've tried to connect to Garmin Express on my Mac via USB but it doesn't recognise my 235 as being connected (and no green light), so can't go down that avenue.

Help please! Any ideas welcome!

I find the firmware updates very unstable and very reluctant to update the software! Very fustrating Garmin!

    Try one of the following:
    Method 1. Through hardware key sequence in boot time
    1. Press and hold LAP/BACK button. Keep it pressed, and;
    2. Press for few seconds LIGHT button to turn watch on;
    3. When you see menu "Clean user data: Yes / No?" release LAP/BACK button;
    4. Now you can choose correct option (choose "No" and you will cancel reset!), choose "Yes" and clear all user data, if you wish.

    Method 2. Another hardware key sequence at boot time
    1. Press and release LIGHT (POWER) button, so watch enters boot sequence;
    2. When Garmin LOGO appears, press and hold START + BACK both (those two, on right side);
    3. On first beep release START;
    4. On second beep release BACK.

    Method 3. Garmin WebUpdater

    Great! I tried Method 1 and it did not quite work as the Garmin logo kept appearing but Method 2 worked! (although my data was erased but backed up anyway in Garmin connect).

    If performing a hard reset on your device (holding power button in for 15 seconds) while connected to the computer does not allow you to reinstall software with WebUpdater, then we will need users to reach out to their local Product Support team for assistance.
