Forerunner 235 HR <=> iphone connect with apps

Hello,

I just bought a garmin forerunner. I'm very satisfied with the watch, and Garmin, and plan to buy in summer 2017 an additional Garmin product (the Edge, not decided which model).

So, for now, when cycling i use the watch to register my rides but it seems handy as well to combine the watch, and to be more precise the hearth rate sensor of the watch in combination with a cycling app on my phone.

I know the watch can 'share' this hearth rate sensor but it's not clear to me if it can be combined with apps on my iphone. I tried a few one but it seems the phone can't see the sensor. I've everything set on 'on', in the watch i selected 'bluetooth' (it syncs perfectly with Garmin connect app) and also my bluetooth on my iphone 6 is 'on'.

Any idea what i did wrong ?

I want to use the forerunner 235 hearth rate monitoring on my Bushido Smart Tacx as well but it doesn't seem to see the watch.

Is this all possible or not ?

Or what's causing this ?

Thx for your help,

Marc

PS Sorry for my poor english, i'm not a native english speaking person ;)
  • When you use the broadcast heart feature of your watch the signal is being sent via the ANT+ protocol so your iPhone will only be able to pick it up if your have and ANT+ dongle connected to your phone.
