Watch keeps resetting to miles/pounds instead of kms/kilograms

Last Wednesday I was tracking a workout on my FR230 and my distance seemed way off. At the 1 km point, it only showed about 0.600. Speed was off too, it showed my speed as 8, while I was sure I was going faster than 10. I thought there was something wrong with the GPS fix, ended the workout and started a new one, but the problem remained. It took me a while before realizing that it was tracking correctly, but in miles, instead of kilometers.

I changed all the settings on the watch, figuring it must have been a small bug introduced in the recent software update that resets everything to miles. I assumed I would change it and be done with it.

But then today (Saturday) the exact same thing happened.

I had to reset these units again:
Distance (miles)
Pace/Speed (miles)
Weight (pounds)
Height (feet)
Clock (12 hour)

Temperature does stay at Celsius, and the week also still starts at Monday.

I hope there's a way to fix this because this is becoming a bit annoying.
  • This is one of the most common problems. A search would have given you the answer.

the units can be set in three places: Garmin Connect, Garmin Connect Mobile and on the watch. Make sure all three places are set correctly, especially Garmin Connect as this is the master setting.
