In brief - I had lots of problems with cadence lock when I first got this watch in December 2015. After a number of updates it had all but disappeared, only to rear it's ugly head again over the last week or so. First at the end of a 16 mile run where the HR just spikes to my cadence, and then a few days later during a cool down run after an interval session. It's also being performing worse than usual during long intervals (it's normally not great, but its gotten worse). So what has changed. The only thing I can think of is that it's gotten significantly cooler here over the last week or so. And yes I wear the watch properly and I'm well aware of the limitations of an OHRM so let's not go down that road. I just want to know has anyone experienced cadence lock being worse in cooler weather.
Obviously my evidence is only anecdotal from an expirement of one. I was thinking it was more along the lines of reduced blood flow to the extremities in the cold. I seem to have poor circulation in the cold ( numb hands). Anyway it seems to have cleared up now. I'm thinking maybe I had the band a bit too tight on the day. I used to wear it really tight when I was getting all the cadence lock issues before but wear it just tight enough these days. I think it can be very much an individual thing.
I've mentioned this a few times on different threads, but my anecdotal evidence is that cold hands with everything from Mio Fuse to the FR235 has been where cadence lock crops up for me most regularly.
When I first noticed cold having an impact my thought was to keep my arms warm, but would still get it with longs sleeves or arm warmers. Then found that wearing gloves regardless of long sleeves, short sleeves, or no sleeves would give me better results in cool weather.
Again just a sample of one but still gained from experimentation.
