Bluetooth sync Problems

My FR 230 connects via Bluetooth to the phone and Garmin Connect is open but it wont sync. When I try to force it to sync from either the watch or the phone I get a transfer in progress message but nothing happens. Any suggestions?

    Bluetooth syncing

Still struggling to get watch to sync to phone via Bluetooth. The watch and phone are connected but never sync. Any ideas on how to solve?
  • Are you paired in Garmin Connect Mobile ONLY? You don't want to be paired in your phone's settings.

Does your phone have internet access or are you losing that at times?

Thanks Jim - paired in phone's settings and Garmin Connect and problem seems to occur on office WIFI only - Its possible that office WIFI varies in strength from time to time -

I'm having the same issues, on a Nexus 5X. I have bluetooth enabled, but not paired in the system bluetooth menu; I have location enabled. The watch won't sync unless I disable/reenable bluetooth.

roughly the same - once BT-connection is lost (due to range), then I have to disable/enable BT on the cell to get it connected again.

Check that your office network does not block access to the Garmin servers; I don't know if the exact URL used is visible anywhere, but connect.garmin.com would be a good place to start testing. Sync requires access to upload the data to Connect, the phone is used as a pipeline, not for storage.

Just got the Forerunner 230. BT worked for first two weeks. Now nothing. Using Galaxy S7.

Phone: Forerunner 230 is a stored pair but does not recognize the watch as "available"
Watch: Bluetooth Status: Waiting to Connect
Phone Garmin Connect App: Forerunner 230 status "Not Connected"

Turned OFF/ON BT on phone. - no change
    Rebooted phone - no change
Cleared cache/restarted Garmin Connect Phone App - no change
Turned OFF/ON BT on watch - no change

I honestly dont think the watch's BT is working. Its not sending a BT signal which is why the phone doesnt 'smell' it.
  • I have also been having sync issues. I am using a Samsung galaxy core prime. Siuation is very similar to UDPRIDEs post

I'm still getting very slow Bluetooth sync (both at home and work) using Iphone 7. For example on sunday evening took 15 minutes to sync (one activity -14km run). Could this be a function of the number of FIT files collected on the watch? will deleting these help? Any other ideas?
