Edge 1000 Cannot Complete BT Pairing

Since a week or two the Edge 1000 cannot make a BT connection with my phone (Garmin Connect App version 4.59). I followed different advises to recover the BT connection (e.g. factory reset). None of them works so far.

My assumption is that the problem is caused by the latest version of the Garmin Connect App. Anyone facing the same problem?
