Wireless upload of new course does not work

Trying to upload a new course from connect phone (bluetooth) while a course is still active on the garmin edge 1000 is not possible.

I normally have a multi day course going when biking, and keep the session active during the days of traveling

as tomorrow we want to change courses, i created a new one to upload to the edge. I tried many times reconnecting with my phone

while upoading the new course to my fenix worked while there must be something with the edge.
finally i closed the session and saved my training and instantly the new course was loaded to the edge.

sad enough i now close the training so i need to restart a new session tomorrow

There's a Connect IQ widget that allows will do what you want. I can't remember it's name but the author is Dpawlyk.

It's easy/convenient to download courses from RideWithGPS.

It's kind of a PITA to download courses from Garmin Connect. You have to use the course number (it's in the URL for the page), which is kind of tedious.

There are options in the widget to download FIT files from phones too. These require an appropriate app on the phone. It's somewhat easier using an Android phone.
