My Edge Explore automatically starts recording a ride

I can not stop it from doing this. As soon as I discard a ride it will start recoding another one. I can not even power it off as it is always recording a ride.

It has only started doing this after a ride this evening.

How can I stop it from doing this?

Have you tried this:

Settings-->Ride Settings-->Timer Start Mode-->Manual

When the Timer is set to Manual it can only be controlled by the record button on the lower right of the Explore. If it's set to Auto you can adjust parameters so that it begins recording beyond a certain speed threshold. And when the Timer is set to Prompt a dialogue box will prompt you to either start or reject recording.

Check to see your current settings are to your preferences.
