Navigation Errors

On courses that I have downloaded from Ride w/GPS, very often in the middle of the route, instead of the next turn information, it will just say 400 ft to "name of the course". It still shows the route correctly on the map, but stops giving me turn-by-turn info, such as the name of the upcoming street or the distance to the turn. It will say that forever until the end of my ride. Has anybody had this happen and if so, any remedies?

Thanks,

I have just started using the Edge 820, and so far like it. But indeed, as a newbie in the device, I did notice a couple of quirks in navigating, with downloaded routes
The first one was that at the point where I was supposed to take a ferry, the navigation brought me there, but then (believe it or not, the ferry embarkation points was not very visible/recognisable as such) once I'd passed it, the edge had great difficulty in reconnecting with the course (recalculating endlessly).
Second, after stopping for lunch or other, longer breaks (i.e. ride paused, and edge put to sleep), it would find the course, but navigation instructions would stop, and the waypoint indicator on top of the map screen would stay on the same waypoint for a very long time - so I would have to follow the course by looking at the onscreen map.

With course programmed through the edge itself, there were no such issues, but then I was careful not to put the edge to sleep again mid-course...
  • I've seen that recently, when I was off course ( stopped for lunch at a roadside restaurant ). I think it's saying you need to go 400ft to get back onto the course. Does that make sense ?
