Garmin 820 freezing when I install SD card with maps

Hey,

I used free OSM garmin maps recently. I followed the directions to the t on how to put on the SD card for the Garmin. When I put the card in my garmin and turn it on, the garmin screen will not go past loading. I mean I waited 20 minutes and it was still loading maps. Any suggestions on what to do? Also, my phone and gamin aren't sinking through bluetooth anymore. I tried resetting both my garmin and phone. Not luck. Any suggestions? The garmin is up to date with garmin express.

Are you sure it's an 820? (It doesn't have a memory card slot of any description in most if not all markets)

I was going to say the same. ...are you plugging something into the USB slot? If so, the 820 is probably going to hard drive mode (or whatever its called.) This is what the 820 will do if you plug it into a PC so that you can transfer files to the device. If your connecting to a PC, simply copy your map file to the Garmin folder.
