has happened to me 2 or 3 times. I basically remove the device from Garmin Connect app as well as my phones settings and re-pair it from scratch. I usually struggle with it for an hour restarting my phone, and restarting the Edge 820 and finally it starts working again and will work for a few months flawlessly.
Yup, it's been happening to me lately, too. I've been manually uploading it through wifi. I suspect it's something that's happened with Connect because it's happened a few times with my fenix as well lately.
Yesterday I noticed my previous 2 rides hadn't uploaded [i'm using an iphone]. I ended up closing all the background apps including Garmin Connect after which everything synced as normal.
Thanks guys, I disconnected the 820 from connect and reconnected and it's working now. It took a while to reconnect as it keep saying maximum number of devices reached but I got there in the end.
I also noticed that although the edge said Bluetooth connected it wasnt connected on the connect app.

yep same thing I struggled with. eventually I got the device reconnected.
i have garmin 820 trouble having is not uploading have deleated garmin app and bluuetooth lots of times repairs with bluetooth again but will still not upload my ride onto strava
Does it upload to Garmin Connect and just not Strava, or to neither? If it uploads to GC, then it will go from GC to Strava if you link accounts.
Mine will automatically upload at the end of ride if I have cell data connectivity. When out of cell coverage I wait until I am in coverage than go to History, load specific activity, and select upload. It usually says "upload failed" but if I wait a minute or two it will upload and show up in GC and Strava.
