Edge 520 Stopped recording distance

My Edge520 has recently stopped recording distance data, sometimes records 2ft and then stops.

I have reset the device which fixed the problem for 3 short rides but has since come back. Batteries in Cadence and Speed sensors have been replaced and are recording speed.

Any ideas?

It’s hard to say with any certainty just what the cause might be, so it might be worth performing a factory reset, having first backed up the contents of the settings, sports, locations, records, weight…

Out of storage space? Try cleaning out the activities folder.

I am having the same issue. It also freezes when I save the ride. I recently removed the fit files but left a few still on. Today it recorded 2.5 miles! The device was active, showing speed, HRM etc during the ride.

Does the battery drain quickly? Mine started to behave erratically at times when the battery was well past its prime. Perhaps try running it from a USB Powerbank to test this.

Thanks for the advice. I will give it a try. It is pretty old I suppose. Perhaps time for a new unit.
