Hard reset issues - Screen freeze

I have been getting etap gears 0-0 and assume its my 520 corrupted

I tried the soft reset - didnt fix it

I tried the hard reset [Factory reset] - thru system reset in setting and the "garmin" startup screen just stays there

Latest firmware 13.00

Any solutions to get factory reset to complete

My 520 Plus would read 0-0 for my eTap (11 speed) gears most of the time, and occasionally show the correct gear combination. I never got it to show the correct gear combination consistently. I do not know if this is an eTap issue or a Garmin issue, but I gave up & deleted the etap gear data fields from all my screens.

As to your reset problem, have you tried plugging the 520 into your computer via USB? I had to do that once when my 520 Plus locked up completely.

its a garmin issue

I have had months of correct gear showing on my garmin 520 / Only last couple weeks that it has been giving intermitent correct gears.

I have a strong feeling its corrupted .fit file and i would like to complete a hard reset and start clean.

erasing all the fit file did not resolve the Etap 0-0 issue

Former Member - So the ETap shows the gears intermittently or never? These are two very different behaviors. What ETap system do you have?
