Update 2.70

Third time's the charm? Firmware 2.70 was released today.

2.70 has for me fixed both the setting saving on device problems (and I don't have to use GC, I reset the device manually to test this) AND my speed/cadence connection issues.

I did have trouble getting my device to update from 2.6 to 2.7. Garmin Express would claim that my device had already been updated, even though the Edge 25 didn't display a "software update ready to install" screen through several reboots. In the end, I connected it to my laptop, which is a mac, and that installed the update correctly. Hopefully this is something specific to my desktop PC and not more widespread.

But you know what? All is (mostly) forgiven, as my device finally works as well as it did when I bought it.

Settings save fine for me too now (2.70), as well as language - only thing missing is that the courses delete everytime I turn it off (that's not intentional is it??)

That's not intentional, they didn't delete on the original firmware. I'll test that out tonight and report back.

Still, quite an improvement.

So I did the v2.70 update. Here is what Garmin Express says about the update:

- Fixed issue causing loss of settings when powering off the device.
- Fixed issues introduced in v2.50 release where some settings were not saved correctly.
IMPORTANT NOTE: this update will cause your user settings to be cleared.

I did the update... did my settings on the device, power cycled the Edge25 - it seems to be saving my settings. Have not connected cadence sensor or speed sensor yet, or paired my Samsung G6. The Garmin Connect, and Express is still jacked up. Saved settings online still will not save settings and overwrite all settings manually set on the device. We will see what happens when I sync with a smartphone via BT.

Seems a bit promising, but Connect is still jacked up.

Yup, v2.70 firmware appears to have fixed the loss of settings, have power cycled the Edge 25 multiple times...

update 2.70 has solved the problem of saving settings. We expect the ability to display the HR and cadence on the same page.:o

Installed version 2.70.

Looks all ok now!

The only thing I really miss is a battery percentage icon. (also during charging)

And when I charge the unit via my Edge 800 charger, no charging icon can be seen, only that it is connected to external power.
Only charging with a computer gives the charging icon fullscreen.

Still can't impoty .gpx into Connect :-(

2.7 seems to fix the settings problems. (Will confirm with a ride tomorrow.)

I still get X UNDEFINED when I try and upload a .gpx file from the web.

You can only load FIT files to the Edge 25. You will need to convert your gpx file to a FIT file for it to load. There is thread on this topic.

No Bluetooth connectivity.

Updated to 2.70 all seems fine but it will not connect with my mobile. Bluetooth on Garmin is on and it displays "waiting to pair" when I input the code generated by the phone it briefly says "connecting" then goes back to waiting to pair. There is no Bluetooth logo displayed on the Garmin even though it is switched on. any advice please.

Everything is still working. I have not had any trouble connecting to my mobile, and courses are not deleting on reboot for me. They stay on my device just fine.
