Edge 25 - False Update notification

I keep getting notified on my Android phone that there is an update available, only to connect to Garmin Express and see that I'm "Up to Date" at 3.30.

Is this happening to anyone else? Is there something I can do to resolve the issue?

  • Same for me. If you check on Garmin Connect (website) there is a language update for Edge 25, but if you connect the edge 25 using a USB Cable and try to send that language update to the unit it will not work.

    I don't think you can do something, don't know if you can turn off update notifications from Garmin Connect (mobile app).

    ... looks like this has been going on for over a year and covered a couple of releases ... pretty horrible cycle time on those fixes.

    Just an update, I did end up opening a ticket with Garmin Support and they walked me through a resolution.

    It turns out there was an update available. I needed to dismiss the Language update by clicking the X to the right of the update list. When resynching there was a BLE / ANT+ update available. I'm still at software version 3.30, but clearing the language update and installing the other update seems to have resolved my issue for now.

    I do think I dismissed the language update before, but I guess I didn't.

    Have dismissed the language update several times, and have also loaded the ANT+/BLE update. No bueno. Still getting "update" notices.

    The support person I was emailing with hinted towards several courses of action based on the initial troubleshooting, so there might be other things that can be done. If it bothers you as much as it bothered me, it might be worth opening an issue with support.

    What's really weird is that it happens with mine, but not with my GF's. Her unit is a year newer, but same firmware, same CM version on our phones, use the same computer usually when we connect via USB. WHen I talked to Garmin a couple months ago got no help. Sounds like they're a little more up to speed now,may try again.
