GARMIN Edge 25 cadence

Hi..

Please, can someone explain why Edge 25 when connected to cadence sensor on bike shows values between 3 and 7 and not real values in rpm (lets say 50 - 100 rpm). I don't understand how to adjust this?

Thanks!

Let me say this way... cadence sesor on my Garmin Edge 25 is showing different values then it has to. For exp. it shows numbers usually between 4 and 7 while I am spinning pedals. How can I adjust it to have real exact values in rpm units which is much higher number. Please help... tnx

  • is it magnet or magnet-less cadence sensor? Garmin or 3rd party? If magnet, are you certain the magnet is in the right position?

Sensor is with magnet and it is built in bike frame and other one is on pedal instaled on right height and it is one that comes with garmin gps unit. It supports Ant+ protocol...

Garmin sensor is magnetless. Possible you're getting intereference from the sensor in frame? Move it to the other crank and see what it does.

Just one more detail. Cadence values on Garmin during cycling are 3-7, but when I check on Garmin app values are like they should be, 75 rpm 115 rpm max. Any idea?

I don't use cadence sensor at the moment, but I used to have it and I recall my Edge 25 was showing cadence on it's display just fine. But not sure what was the fw version back then, if the latest or not.

Are you sure it's set to display cadence and not some other parameter? When you sync with Connect the unit will default to the settings you have in Connect, even if you've changed them on the unit. If you're getting those readings with it set to cadence it sounds like there's a problem with the display on your unit. I'd call Garmin.
