Loaded new release and device updated OK. It the started up OK. Charged it up and now it won't start. The Garmin screen just flashes, tried resetting by holding the power button for 15 seconds. The devices does shut down, but won't start up ( screen still flashing ). Tried plugging it into a computer but it won't get recognised. Any suggestions ?
Can't connect to GCM or a computer so can't revert or update anything. It's just flashing at me at the Garmin screen. Taking it back tomorrow to retailer for a refund !
Non-prompted Non-Vol Clear - Clears NV and deletes all FIT files including Activities, Courses, Workouts etc. (takes the device back to defaults). Post the wrong buttons. It should be

The non-vol clear was successful if the device finishes powering up and goes to the setup wizard
same for me. I just tried, as from my experience with my 1000 I heard always complains about firmware update, but was never affected. The update looked good at the first stage and I am pretty sure I did several power up and down to check some stuff for datafields and CIQ. Just now(half a day after) I was going to check if for the battery life issue if some sensors where connected double. But it came up with the blinking screen. Nothing recommended here worked - as for Paul
This issue appears to be related to some Connect IQ apps on the device. We are working quickly to get it resolved. For those of you who have a device that is stuck please reset the device using the following steps. Once the device is back up and rebooted you can connect it to the computer and remove the files in the APPS folder until we have a resolution.
