European Edge 1030 - Australian ClimbPro not working?

Hi all - I'm hoping someone may have a solution as I'm disappointed to lose out on a great feature!

I have a Edge 1030 that I purchased in Europe, so it came with the European Cycle Maps installed.

I'm currently cycling around the world, and have purchased separately the Australian and North American cycle maps.

The climbpro feature was working perfectly in Europe... however now I'm in Australia, I haven't seen the climbpro feature at all.

I have made sure in the ClimbPro settings to have 'All Climbs' enabled - and I've just climbed up out of Adelaide into the hills, so i've certainly had reason for ClimbPro to kick in.

Has anyone else found this problem? Any solutions out there?

Did the Australian map come with a DEM map file as well?

Not that I can remember. I do have the Europe DEM. Is that the answer? I guess I assumed that seeing as I bought the cycle maps they’d come with it?

It needs DEM data for the area you are in and a routable map for ClimbPro to work.

If you try just navigating to a location on the map by dropping a ping. Does it compute and elevation profile for that route on the elevation page,

Sorry I mixing up ClimbPro in free climb mode, which you don't on the 1030.

On the 1030 ClimbPro only works when following a course or navigating to point. It is the course file that supplies the required elevation data unless you are navigating to a point then it comes from the DEM data.

Are you following a course? If so could you share one of the ones that did not trigger ClimbPro.

I can route to a particular location, but I don't get any elevation data.

In europe I could drop the pin on a location and it would route there and run climb pro for me. So it has worked for me in the past with the 1030 - has this changed in an update? Is there anyway to get the DEM data for Aus/NZ?

Not that I can see in Garmin Express or the device. Frustrating if this is the case, as it feels like I have only half the maps!
