Folder Structure on Memory Card

I have just upgraded from a Garmin 1000 to a 1030 as the screen on my 1000 is slowly dying. However, I have encountered an issue with the memory card. I installed a 32GB card and formatted it to FAT32. However, unlike the 1000, the 1030 card has not replicated the folder format on the 1030 so for instance there is no new files folder where I can add routes etc. I want to use the card for additional maps (which I used to do on my 1000). Please can you help?

The 1030 has 16GB of internal storage so using a SD card is not necessary. Since SD card cause issues often times I recommend you avoid it unless you really need it. The only thing I would put on one is very large extra maps if you need some. And even then the internal storage can accommodate lots of extra maps. I travel regularly and install OSM based maps without ever needing an SD card. I guess my point is to warn you cant SD card cause reliability issues and have no benefit unless you really need the space.
