Shot down icon on the screen after shot down procedure

After updating to 8.00 I have the problem that when I do the shot down procedure (left key+soft key shotdown) the 1030 does not shot down completely as before. It stays online with a shotdown icon on the screen and keeps draining the battery.

Do you have any suggestions of how to solve this ?

    Does that happen every time? My 1030, and the 830 before it, used to hang like that, but only very occasionally. Never figured out why, but I always watch my Garmin shut down to make sure that it hasn't happened.

    Powering off the Edge does not need multiple buttons. This can be done by simply pressing and holding the power button>Once prompted, select 'Power Off'. If your Edge is frozen, you may need to press and hold the power button for 10-20 seconds for the Edge to power off.

    That's correct however for some reason sometimes it will hang with what looks like a power button image on a black background & the only way to sort it is to press the power button for 10 seconds to reboot then power of again

    Having the same issue here sometimes. And yes I do know how to turn it off. Freezes with the power button icon on a black screen. And yes it drains the battery if left like that. Only since FW 8.00.

    I've seen the same problem as the OP sometimes - press the power button until you see the options of Lock Screen, Sleep, or Power Off on the screen, press on Power Off, and sometimes the power symbol in the middle of the screen (split circle with vertical dash at the top) remains there, and the unit is not powered off.

    Happens on my wife's 1000 as well as on my 1030.

    I assume there's no fix for this yet??...Grabbed my 1030 which I charged after my last ride to find it was dead having not powered off :-(

    I assume there's no fix for this yet?...same issues for the last 2 weeks and it drains the battery each time :-(

    FW 8.08 still doing the same shutdown issue.
