Live Track sucks!

Is does work when it is not needed (my wife is cycling or running next to me) but does not work when it should be (longer rides, when my wife is at home and wants to follow me).

Today it worked for only 300 meters and then shut down itself, possibly due to connection failure with the Samsung phone.

Seems Garmin needs to do something to their very bad Bluetooth connection. This is still rather bad.

Garmin seems to be their own biggest competitor at the moment. Only very busy with putting > 10 new devices a year on the market, with innovative features no one uses.
Forgetting the software and hardware has lots of bugs, which will drive users to other brands. When will they get awake at Garmin?

  • I put it on Twitter the other day and got a message from Garmin to menage them separately. It seems either they don't recognise the issue, or there's something else going on. It's not good at all.

  • Their whole software environment is poor. I've worked in s/w development and testing as Garmin as a whole is the pits!

I agree. I worked for almost 40 years in S/W development on both mainframes and PCs for quite a number of organizations, and in none of them would we ever have dreamed of releasing anything as remotely as bug-ridden as the stuff that Garmin routinely puts out to the world.

No more livetrack with last patch. Strange cause it always worked fine for me before.

  • Recently I start Live Track only manually, it's the only way to make it works UNFORTUNATELY. But if you start it manually most of the time it's ok. I believe it's a connection problem with Garmin Connect, too many times Garmin Connect loose connection and it's not more able to recover it without to be restarted, so if the connection on Garmin Connect App is in stall it cannot work. If you start it manually it's easy to understand when the app needs to be restarted to work.
