Timer

I have just upgraded to the Edge 1030, from the Edge 1000.
Finding it a hard learning curve, ( but then again I am not much good at this )
I have 3 Activity profiles, Train, Indoor, and Race. If i set a timer in say " train ", Will it only work in Train ? I have gone into Alerts, in " train " and chose time alerts, My option is " Alert at, and i have chosen 30.00, Does that mean it will Alert me at 30 mins in to my ride ? On the Edge 1000 i had a timer set to go off every 30 mins, will this do that, because thats what I am trying to achieve.

Every activity-profile has its one alert-settings.
But I think what you trying to achieve is not a time-alert but a auto-lap.
You can find „autolap-function“ in profile-settings one line below „alerts“.

Thanks for that, But I don't think I want to set a Auto lap. all i want to do is set a timer to go off every 30 Mins during my ride, In Alerts, > Time Alert, > It says Alert at 30.00 Does that mean it will alert me once at 30 mins in to my ride, or every 30 mins, I want an alert every 30 mins

Every 30 minutes you will get a timer-alert (beep and message). The timer itself goes on counting.
It‘s simple to find out: set the timer-alert to 1 minute and start an activity!
